Your Pregnancy: Week 8
Your pēpi is the size of a raspberry.
At week 8, your baby’s approximate crown rump length is 1.3cm and they weigh just 1 gram. They’re around the size of a raspberry. Their eyes are forming, as are their little fingers and toes. This week, the gonads have developed into ovaries if she is female or testes if he is male. Due to a process called ossification, their bones are hardening too.
You can’t tell yet but your uterus has already doubled in size and the placenta/whenua is rapidly growing too, covering approximately one-third of the uterus lining. This expansion of your uterus is likely pressing on your bladder and increasing the frequency of your need to urinate.
