Your Pregnancy: Week 27

Can you feel your baby’s hiccups?

By week 27, if your baby could stretch out they’d measure almost 37cm and they weigh nearly 1kg. Right now, their brain development is happening at an exponential rate. Your baby is able to open and close their eyes now.

If you feel a repetitive ticking sensation in your tummy, that’s probably baby’s hiccups – it’s totally normal and very cute.

Some pregnant people start to get muscle cramps or suffer from restless legs syndrome, often when they’re trying to go to sleep. Constipation is another common occurrence in pregnancy too. For our tips on alleviating these and other discomforts, see our Common Discomforts article for advice.
