Your pēpi is the size of a lime.

Your baby is approximately 4cm by week 11 and weighs about 7 grams. They’re the size of a lime.

Did you know your baby’s head is about half of its size? They have fingernails now. Internally, the organs are working already with the pancreas producing insulin and the kidneys are filtering waste to make urine.

If you’re pregnant in summer, you might feel especially hot, notice an increase in perspiration, or experience dizziness. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and be sure to rest.

For some people, their gums thicken during pregnancy which can increase incidences of gum disease. Read our article on Oral Health for more information on taking care of your dental health during pregnancy. You can also check out the New Zealand Dental Association website for more information.
